Featured Plant Music (Listen)
Listen to current playlist: Vielle, ambient and classical music mix

Absolutely fabulous vielle playing by Shira Kammen. Highly recommend the whole album but this particular tune (Hanter Dros) is melodic - listen all the way through. And truth be told, the plants just love it! (Yes, I do have some wild theories about growing plants). You can stream this song and hear the complete play list of vielle, ambient and classical music here or download the mp3 to play on your own desktop. Complements Magnatune. Happy listening!

Sub Rosa: Interview with Graham Hancock On Plant Teachers

Sub Rosa: Interview with Graham Hancock: On Plant Teachers (.pdf download). This review is featured on page 35 in Issue 2 of the most interesting Sub Rosa Magazine. I love this particular issue both for it's inclusion of the controversial Graham Hancock, and, for the featured cover art by amazing plant shaman and artist Pablo Amaringo. His text "Ayahuasca Visions" is well worth reading both for it's interesting shamanic and cultural insights as well as for the stunning imagery. To see more issues of Sub Rosa visit: The Daily Grail. Enjoy!

Film: Why Organic?

Why Organic? Much like a PowerPoint presentation but still extremely interesting. Compares organic cultivation to conventional growing methods and covers topics such as: genetics, overall sustainability concerns, impact to our ecosystem, and some interesting reflections on the relationship (consequence) between chemical application advocacy and consciousness. Quite lengthy so view when time permits if you are interested in the topic.

    Sunflower Obsession

I am aware my posting appears rather SPARSE. :) There's so much going on behind the scenes in my life. Most of what I do is simply not posted on any publically accessible space.

    Velvet Queen

And back to my garden endeavors, I had to post these lovely pics of some of my sunflowers. I have a sunflower obsession. Really. Right now for just the recent season of 2007, I believe I have a collection of 283 sunflower images. Just can't STOP photographing sunflowers. Probably these should be posted in a new 2007 garden gallery. But I fear people will be bored just looking at sunflowers all day. And it's very time consuming. Maybe I will be inspired at a future date! But for now, below are some of my favorites. One is a type of Japanese Boxflower, and the others are vivid Gold and orange varieties. At right is my MOST favorite Velvet Queen sunflower. I grown it in a way to obtain the deepest blood red color (much like Chanel's famous "VAMP" cosmetic colors on the market about 12 years ago).

Today is Sunday and the very first day I have had to complete a single thought of my own. Now that I have half an afternoon to muse, create, be.... of course my mind is a total blank. What I have decided to do is document (even if the thoughts appear in irrationale order) whatever "ideas" emerge in process of my busy days. For whatever reason, (perhaps it's rebellion agasinst HAVING to work? Lol) thoughts and insights seem to appear most when one has absolutely NO time to attend to them or contemplate them or DO anything with them. But enough of the diatribe... for now - some sunflowers!
